Two-state teleportation
Quantum teleportation with additional a priori information about the input
state achieves higher fidelity than teleportation of a completely unknown
state. However, perfect teleportation of two non-orthogonal input states
requires the same amount of entanglement as perfect teleportation of an unknown
state, namely one ebit. We analyse how well two-state teleportation can be
achieved using every degree of pure-state entanglement, and discuss the
fidelity of `teleportation' that can be achieved with only classical
communication but no shared entanglement. A two-state telecloning scheme is

Slush hydrogen propellant production, transfer, and expulsion studies at the NASA K-Site Facility
Slush hydrogen is currently being considered as a fuel for the National AeroSpace Plane (NASP) because it offers the potential for decreased vehicle size and weight. However, no large scale data was available on the production, transfer, and tank pressure control characteristics required to use the fuel for the NASP. Therefore, experiments were conducted at NASA-Lewis K-Site Facility to improve the slush hydrogen data base. Slush hydrogen was produced using the evaporative cooling, or freeze-thaw, technique in batches for approx. 800 gallons. This slush hydrogen was pressure transferred to a 5 ft diameter spherical test tank following production, and flow characteristics were measured during this transfer process. The slush hydrogen in the test tank was pressurized and expelled using a pressurized expulsion technique to obtain information on tank pressure control for the NASP. Slush hydrogen transfer studies at the NASA K-Site Test Facility
An experimental study was performed as part of the National Aerospace Plane (NASP) effort to determine slush hydrogen production and transfer characteristics. Flow rate and pressure drop characteristics were determined for slush hydrogen flow through a vacuum-jacketed transfer system. These characteristics were compared to similar tests using normal boiling point and triple point hydrogen. In addition, experimental flow characteristic data was compared with predictions from the FLUSH analytical model. Slush hydrogen density loss during the transfer process was also examined
Technology issues associated with using densified hydrogen for space vehicles
Slush hydrogen and triple-point hydrogen offer the potential for reducing the size and weight of future space vehicles because these fluids have greater densities than normal-boiling-point liquid hydrogen. In addition, these fluids have greater heat capacities, which make them attractive fuels for such applications as the National Aerospace Plane and cryogenic depots. Some of the benefits of using slush hydrogen and triple-point hydrogen for space missions are quantified. Some of the major issues associated with using these densified cryogenic fuels for space applications are examined, and the technology efforts that have been made to address many of these issues are summarized
Kirramyces destructans in Australia: biosecurity threat or elusive native pathogen?
Kirramyces destructans was first described in 1996 from north Sumatra, Indonesia, where it caused severe leaf and shoot blight on Eucalyptus grandis in nurseries and young plantations. Since then it has been reported in nurseries and plantations in Vietnam, Thailand and China, with its host range extending to include E. camaldulensis and E. urophylla. K. destructans has also been reported from native E. urophylla in East Timor and was considered a significant biosecurity threat to Australia’s native eucalypt forests and plantations. A study on the population diversity of K. destructans isolates throughout south-east Asia in which 8 gene regions were sequenced (four nuclear genes, one mitochondrial gene and three microsatellite markers) detected very low nucleotide polymorphism. This genetic uniformity is indicative of an introduced population which has subsequently spread throughout Asia via human-mediated movement of germplasm. Surveys of sentinel plantings in northern Australia revealed a complex of Kirramyces spp. among which K. destructans was detected. The same gene regions and markers were sequenced as for the Asian study and diversity among the K. destructans isolates in Australia was found to be much greater than that in Asia. We believe that K. destructans is native to Australia where is resides symptomlessly within the native vegetation. The disease is only expressed when non-endemic eucalypts are planted. As such the pathogen is a major encumbrance to the establishment of commercial eucalypt plantations in Northern Australia. The disease has not been observed in native ecosystems, but the effect of inoculum build up within plantations on adjacent native eucalypt remnants is not known
The Relationship Between Task Cohesion and Competitive State Anxiety
The general purpose of the present study was to determine if perceptions of team cohesion are related to the interpretation athletes attach to their precompetition anxiety. Specifically examined was the association between athlete perceptions of task cohesiveness (Individual Attractions to the Group–Task, ATG-T, and Group Integration–Task, GI-T) and the degree to which perceptions of the intensity of precompetition anxiety symptoms (cognitive and somatic) were viewed as facilitative versus debilitative. Participants were athletes (N = 392) from the sports of soccer, rugby, and field hockey. Each athlete completed the Group Environment Questionnaire (Carron, Widmeyer, & Brawley, 1985) after a practice session. A directionally modified version of the Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 (Martens, Burton, Vealey, Bump, & Smith, 1990) was completed just prior to a competition. Results showed that athletes who perceived their cognitive anxiety as facilitative had higher perceptions of both ATG-T and GI-T, χ2 (2, N = 260) = 8.96, p \u3c .05, than athletes who perceived their cognitive anxiety as debilitative. Also, athletes who perceived their somatic anxiety as facilitative had higher perceptions of GI-T, χ2 (2, N = 249) = 5.85, p \u3c .05

Malgré les lacunes de la documentation, l'étude de l'organisation spatiale des centres d'archives, l'analyse diplomatique des tablettes cunéiformes et un bref survol du contenu textuel des documents découverts permet de mettre au jour l'existence de bureaucraties complexes, soutenant des systèmes monarchiques de nature autoritaire, à l'intérieur desquels la figure royale revêt une lourde charge symbolique
Electric propulsion options for the SP-100 reference mission
Analyses were performed to characterize and compare electric propulsion systems for use on a space flight demonstration of the SP-100 nuclear power system. The component masses of resistojet, arcjet, and ion thruster systems were calculated using consistent assumptions and the maximum total impulse, velocity increment, and thrusting time were determined, subject to the constraint of the lift capability of a single Space Shuttle launch. From the study it was found that for most systems the propulsion system dry mass was less than 20 percent of the available mass for the propulsion system. The maximum velocity increment was found to be up to 2890 m/sec for resistojet, 3760 m/sec for arcjet, and 23 000 m/sec for ion thruster systems. The maximum thruster time was found to be 19, 47, and 853 days for resistojet, arcjet, and ion thruster systems, respectively
